I have a massey ferguson 5435 and cannot get the PTO to Dis- engage . If I hook a bush hog up and am in tall grass I can put the pto switch to neutral or brake then the PTO will almost stop turning but not completely. when switched back to power it kicks in strong.

Re: PTO won’t engage 1735M Pattycake, I sprayed all the collars on my implements with lubricant so they would unlock and slide on easier. Lining up the teeth can sometimes be a pain in the a*s.

Clutch pedal all the way down 1st, engine running, try to move pto lever from out-of-gear to in gear and experience too much grinding so that it won’t go into gear.
